La Finca Azul
Tenerife, an island in the Atlantic Ocean belonging to the Spanish autonomous community of the Canaries, is home to Venezuelan artist Iddanella Martin. At La Finca Azul, her sustainable Aloe Vera farm, Iddanella creates art that blends traditional Venezuelan textile techniques with themes of cultural identity, heritage, and environmental consciousness. Her work is not just personal expression; it’s a form of protest against the ongoing dictatorship in Venezuela, advocating for liberation through creativity. Below is a series of photos I took while learning to harvest Aloe Vera, capturing the essence of Iddanella’s life and art.
